How can I get involved with the GCU Clinical Skills CLUB?
There are many ways one can get involved with the Clinical Skills Program. If you have met all the requirements and the application cycle is open, please feel free to apply and be apart of this program. If the application cycle has closed, try again next semester and keep a look out for our Phlebotomy Certification Clinic that happens every semester right on campus!
Do I need to be a Pre-health major?
No, all majors are welcome, healthcare related or not!
What are the requirements to join the gcu clinical skills club program?
These requirements are set only because we want you to get the most out of the program once you are in it. If you do not meet all the requirements you can still send in an application but under the sections you do not meet, please specify why we should choose you.
Requirements:
-
$30 Membership Fee
-
Be available at the time Clinical Skills Program will be held. This changes every semester due to the schedule of the Clinical Skills Mentor and Leads but updated times for each semester can be found under "How to Become a Member".
-
Attend every meeting
How often are phlebotomy certification courses offered?
Once every semester! Fall semester, it usually takes place in October or November and for Spring, we usually do it in March. If you are interested in the course, email us at acclinicalskills@gmail.com and we will put you on the interest list so you automatically receive and email with details like how to apply once the official date is solidified.
Time Requirement once I become a member?
This club is a very feasible commitment. Members will need to be available each week during the specified meeting times which can be found under "How to Become a Member". There will also be a Presentation that you and your group will need to work on but this is only one week out of the 13 week program.
